COMPANY DESCRIPTION
|
| The Literacy Company (TLC) was started in 1996 by Richard Sutz, a long-time consultant and friend of Evelyn Wood, the renowned founder of worldwide known Evelyn Wood Reading Dynamics. TLC's mission is to help individuals succeed in today's information-based economy which rewards individuals in direct proportion to their ability to read effectively. It was Mr. Sutz's vision that the primary reason for the low level of literacy skills in the USA was due to the fact that formal reading instruction stops after 3rd grade and that this inadequacy, ie., the lack of enhanced reading skills, could best be remedied through the universal employment of a self-paced software program or in an online format. TLC's management team devoted several years and more than $3 million in R&D to create its first product, THE READER'S EDGE. Sales of The Reader's Edge began in 2003.. |
