Context Taxonomy

by Sloan-C

All of us play unique roles in online learning. We work at different types of institutions and teach in different subject area domains. Many of us are involved with unique sorts of online learning, such as blended programs, inter-institutional collaborative efforts, or large introductory classes. The Context Taxonomy allows you to look for effective practices that apply to your unique perspectives on online learning, and to find ideas that may help you meet challenges relative to them.

PERSPECTIVE has to do with your perspective on online learning.  In this section you can search effective practices from the unique position you hold within the online learning community.  These include: New to Online Learning, Faculty, Instructional Designers, Support Staff, Professional Development, and Administrators.

You might also be interested in effective practices developed for a specific academic DOMAIN.  This section allows you to search for these under the following categories: Liberal Arts (eg.
