Susan Metros
Deputy Chief Information Officer and Executive Director for e-Learning
at The Ohio State University
Upgrading the "e" in e-Learning from "Electronic" to "Engaged"
Abstract: If a primary goal of education is to stimulate our
students' interest in learning, then we need to find new ways to promote
engagement within e-Learning environments. In this presentation, I pair
an engagement continuum with an e-Learning continuum to form a model
for promoting interactive and engaged teaching and learning. We will
examine ways in which the academic community can advance the use of
educational technology from merely transferring content to an online
environment to transforming and even transcending the educational process.
